Carmina

Terms of Service

Last updated 6 October 2026

Welcome to Carmina, a place to read and share poems and short stories. By creating an account or using Carmina you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Carmina.

1. Who can use Carmina

You must be at least 13 years old to use Carmina. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you confirm that a parent or guardian is happy for you to use it.

You must give us accurate sign-up information and keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

2. Your writing belongs to you

You keep the copyright in everything you post. Carmina does not claim to own it.

To run the service, you give Carmina a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, format and distribute your content within Carmina and in the sharing features you choose to use (for example, share cards and links). This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies that other people have already shared outside Carmina.

Private posts are only visible to you. Public posts can be seen, liked, rated, commented on and shared by other people.

3. Only post what you have the right to post

Post your own original work, or work you have permission to share, or work in the public domain. Do not post other people’s writing as your own.

If you believe something on Carmina infringes your copyright, email us at the address below with the details: what the work is, where it appears on Carmina, and that you are the owner or their agent. We will review it and may remove the content.

4. What is not allowed

You must follow the Community Guidelines. In short: no hate speech, harassment, threats, sexual content involving minors, sexually explicit content, graphic violence for its own sake, spam, scams, impersonation, or attempts to harm the service or other people.

We may remove content or suspend or close accounts that break these rules, with or without notice, especially where someone may be at risk.

5. Reporting, blocking and moderation

You can report any post, comment or person, and block anyone you do not want to see. Content that several people report may be hidden automatically until we have reviewed it.

We review reports as quickly as we reasonably can, and we may take action including removing content, warning a person, or closing an account. Our decisions are made in good faith, but we cannot promise to catch everything.

6. Your account

You can change your pen name and photo at any time. You can change your username once every 30 days.

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deleting it permanently removes your profile, writing, comments, likes, ratings and follows from Carmina.

7. Carmina and its content

The Carmina name, design, icons and software belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy or resell them.

Classic poems shown in Carmina are in the public domain. Where only the opening lines are shown, this is noted. Some profiles in Carmina are samples built in to demonstrate the app and are not real people; they are labelled as such.

8. Things that can go wrong

Carmina is provided “as is”. We try to keep it running and safe, but we cannot guarantee it will always be available, error-free or free of content you dislike.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for content posted by users. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have by law that cannot be limited.

9. Changes and ending

We may update these terms. If a change is important we will tell you in the app, and by continuing to use Carmina after that you accept the new terms.

You can stop using Carmina at any time. We may suspend or end the service or your access if you break these terms.
